Profile

Assistant professor at physics department faculty of science king Abdulaziz University. I got my PhD degree in solid state physics from Sheffield University at  the United Kingdom in the field of  X-ray and Neutron diffraction of non-crystalline materials. I have taught general and special courses in physics since I joined the department. I am interested in investigating the physical properties either  structural, optical or electrical for solid materials in form of chalcogenide and nano materials. I have involved in many research projects in the department and have published many papers in different scientific journals over the world.

I am interested in investigating the  structural, optical ,electrical and thermal  properties of chalcogenide and nano materials. I can use X-ray and neutron diffraction methods to know the atomic scale structure of the crystalline and amorphous materials. Thin films of some materials can be prepared using thermal evaporation and sputtering techniques at our department from which electrical and optical properties of these materials would be obtained. These investigations are very important in order to make these materials of great industrial interest. I am also interested in using the science of mechanical alloying to prepare some intermetallic compounds, amorphous and nano materials as an alternative technique to the ordinary one.
